  • A services company dedicated to add value to customers by providing high quality biopharmaceuticals for proof-of–concept studies & clinical studies, as well as aid product development for all major classes of  biopharmaceuticals. The company focuses on the early stages of product development with services ranging from DNA cloning, mammalian cell line generation, upstream process development (mammalian,  microbial & insect cell platforms), purification development, product characterization and clinical manufacturing. Headquartered in Leiden, The Netherlands, the company is privileged to have strong strategic partners in both the Netherlands and the United States of America.
    This relatively young and ambitious company currently employs 65 people in total, based in Leiden and the US.
  • The Director F&C reports to the CEO in Leiden. You will control and accurately record all assets, liabilities, revenues and expenses. In this role you will give special attention to adequate documentation of transactions, reconciliations and financial compliance. You redesign processes where needed and implement new processes. The Director F&C maintains effective relations with Project- and Line Management. You are the manager of a small team. You are excellent in preparing, managing and completing the financial reporting processes, ensuring internal and external reports are timely and accurate and you proactively advise on Sox compliance with internal financial procedures and practices for our facility in the U.S. and Dutch Head Quarters. You provide timely, accurate and complete management information e.g. report on variances between actual and mid-/long term plans in a proactive way. You provide (ad hoc) financial analysis to management.

Skills/qualifications:

  • 10 years’ experience in a dynamic international environment and a successful track record in senior finance roles, preferable in the Biotech
  • Finished degree (at least bachelor but preferably master) in Economics or equivalent
  • Very good and effective communicator with a global mindset and the ability to influence complex situations and positively impact performance. Able to work in a complex matrix environment
  • Good process skills to manage and improve complex processes cross functional
  • Pro-active, hands on mentality and deadline driven
  • Overall view and concern for accuracy and details
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
